Diwali-Festival of Lights: A Civic Celebration

Diwali – Festival of Lights: A Civic Celebration

The Diwali Festival of Lights celebration in Dublin stands as a shining example of Ireland’s commitment to cultural diversity and unity. This civic event, hosted in partnership with the Ireland India Council and Dublin City Council, highlights the shared joy of Diwali—a festival celebrated by millions across various cultures and faiths globally.

The event welcomes individuals from all sectors of society, including leaders from business, academia, and politics, reinforcing Diwali’s core message: the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and wisdom over ignorance.

Our Diwali celebrations include traditional Irish-Indian music and visual arts, complemented by messages from dignitaries that underscore Diwali’s importance in fostering Irish-Indian relations and inclusivity. The Diwali celebrations in Ireland have been a cherished tradition since 2008, and offer a warm setting for cross-cultural connections and shared celebration.
