As Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, 2026 marks a defining moment in the evolution of Ireland–India relations. Against this distinguished backdrop, the Ireland India Council is delighted to announce that Ireland India Day 2026 will be held on Sunday, 30 August 2026 at the prestigious Trim Castle Hotel, County Meath.
This year’s celebration heralds an exciting new chapter. With our traditional venue at Farmleigh House dedicated to official engagements during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Ireland India Day will relocate to one of Ireland’s most iconic historic landmarks. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Trim Castle, the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland, the event will celebrate the enduring friendship between Ireland and India while reflecting Ireland’s growing influence within Europe and its expanding strategic partnership with one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The 2026 theme reflects a pivotal moment in international cooperation. As Ireland leads the Council of the European Union, renewed momentum surrounding the proposed EU–India Free Trade Agreement presents unprecedented opportunities for trade, investment, innovation, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, education and technological collaboration.
Ireland India Day 2026 will convene policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, investors, academics and innovators to examine the immense potential of the evolving EU–India strategic partnership. As this year’s celebration will take place within the exclusive surroundings of the Trim Castle Hotel during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, attendance is strictly limited. Demand is expected to be exceptionally high, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all places have been allocated.

“India Day” in Ireland was conceived and organised by the Ireland India Council in a collaborative partnership with OPW, An Garda SĂochĂ¡na, Civic Bodies, and Indian agencies. Each year we celebrate it at Farmleigh House and Estate from 2015.”India Day” trade/domain/business names are duly registered for Ireland India Council, and the Council has all exclusive rights. We recently learned that our pictures were copied from our website and used by specific individuals/entities to misrepresent the facts and gain legitimacy from our work from the public representatives and Irish authorities. Any unauthorised use of our photos of our previous events and such misrepresentations is a criminal and civil breach. It features an array of spectacular Indian and Irish songs, classical & Bollywood dance, music, and cultural presentations, including fashion shows and a craft market. India Day creates awareness among participants about the rich Irish and Indian culture, values and traditions and celebrates Freedom and Irish Indian Friendship.
